ELKHART – Tammy Marie (Nolen) Johnson, 60, died peacefully Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her home in Elkhart.

Tammy was born December 18, 1957 to Ralph Nolen Sr. and Sharon (Campbell) Nolen. She married Terry Johnson on Aug. 26, 2000 in Elkhart, Indiana.

She was a teacher at Mary Daly Elementary for 18 years where she taught English as a Second Language. She loved reading, often reading 3 or 4 books at a time. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, cooking, and going to garage sales.

She is survived by her husband, Terry; mother, Sharon; daughter, Shay Marie Gautier; step-children, Josh (Laura) Johnson, Kari (Mark) Tucker, and Brad Johnson; brother, Ralph (Kathy) Nolen Jr.; her 6 grandchildren, and 2 nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.

The staff of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart are honored to host Tammy's Celebration of Life Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County or to Frac.org
