Obituary
ELKHART — Tammy J. (Baney) Evans, 58, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday, March 20.
She was born in Elkhart on Feb. 24, 1958, and is survived by her father, Thomas J. Van Winkle of Elkhart, but is preceded in death by her mother, Sue Ann (Wilfret) Van Winkle, as well as grandparents George and Virginia Cole.
Also surviving are her brother, Rick (Melissa) Baney of Conway, Ark.; nieces and nephew Taylor, Alexander and Emily Baney; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, including Vickie (Bobby) Briggs of Middlebury and Nancy Harris of Florence, S.C.
Tammy worked at several local businesses throughout the years including L.E. Johnson (Johnson Controls), Kroger on Johnson Street, Cappy's and Hunter's Place.
Her cheerful smile warmed the hearts of many, and she enjoyed shopping, her dogs and spending time with her family.
In accordance with the family's wishes, no immediate services have been planned. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
