Susan K. Olmstead, 65, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in South Bend, IN on February 21, 1960, to the late David A. and Muriel L. (Boggs) Olmstead.

Susan is also preceded in death by her siblings, William J. "Bill" Olmstead, Thomas Wayne Olmstead, Michael P. "Mike" Olmstead, David M. Olmstead, and Kathleen J. "Kathy" Quick. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Barailloux; sons, Steve Olmstead, Grant Barailloux, and Chris Bare; grandchildren, Joshua Bare and Elliana Olmstead; sister-in-law, Darlene Olmstead; and brother-in-law, Bruce Quick.

Cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. A private family celebration of life service will take place at a later date.

Susan was a loving and caring mother and had a very generous heart. Anything she owned, she knew was temporary, but she would share her favorite possessions with others if she knew it would bring them the same joy it gave her. She mostly kept to herself but enjoyed the company of her family. Susan was a fantastic cook and baker who made some of the best meals around. In her spare time, she enjoyed swimming, and she was really good at it too. Susan was an animal lover as well and especially loved dogs and horses. Susan will be dearly missed by her loving family.
