ELKHART — Susan Marie Montandon, 59, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Elkhart General Hospital at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, after an extended illness.
She was born July 24, 1952, in Elkhart, to the late Charles W. and Marjorie (Basquette) Porter. She married Milton T. "Milt" Montandon on March 5, 1969, in Elkhart. He survives at home.
Also surviving are a son, Andy S. Montandon of Goshen, and a brother, Dennis Porter of Rock Hill, S.C.
Preceding her in death were a son, Steven Montandon, and a brother, Charles R. Porter.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the noon service, a celebration of Susan's life, at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, and Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate.
Susan was a member of the Elkhart Women of the Moose for over 40 years and worked at the Moose lodge there as office manager for nearly 12 years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and visiting the casinos.
