Obituary
ELKHART -- Susan D. Hoel, 55, of Elkhart, passed away at 11:44 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka from natural causes.
She was born in Xenia, Ohio, to Dean E. and Mary Ann (Blair) Andrews, who preceded her in death, as well as a brother, Dennis Andrews, and a sister, Patricia Miller.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica R. "Jessie" Hoel of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Lydia and Mark Kinsman of Elkhart; as well as three brothers, Gary D. (Kathy) Andrews of Xenia, Larry A. (Judy) Andrews of Mason, Ohio, and Robert Cline of Valdosta, Ga.
There will be a gathering of friends and family to celebrate Susan's life from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Willowdale Park Pavilion in Elkhart. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart assisted with arrangements.
Susan held a degree in sociology and dedicated 30 years of her life to helping others through Faith Mission, ADEC and Bashor Children's Home, where she coordinated and oversaw the group home and office activities.
