ELKHART — Sue C. Bishop, 68, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully following a brief illness at Elkhart General Hospital at 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018.

She was born May 8, 1949, in Logansport, to the late Ralph and Ruth (Rasp) Bargerhuff.

She married Patrick C. Bishop in 1972; he passed away in Elkhart in 2007.

Surviving are her children, Meredith A. (Tim Burks), Stephen C. and Craig P. Bishop; grandchildren Paige, Zackary and Ethan Bishop and Kaitlyn Moreno, and close personal friend, Zanzer (Norman) Anderson.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is honored to host Sue's celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, with visitation beginning there at 11 a.m.

Former Elkhart Mayor Dave Miller will officiate and, according to Sue's wishes, cremation will follow the services.

Sue spent nearly 20 years as part of the radiology department's staff at Elkhart General Hospital, and was a joy to all her workmates as she strived to make birthday cakes for every birthday within her department.

She also celebrated every holiday by donning a "holiday-specific" silly headband or hat that she would wear for the entire day.

She was a former member of the Newcomer's Club and played on several local bowling leagues throughout the years.

She was also an ardent supporter of ADEC and enjoyed spending time supporting her son Stephen's endeavors there.

Personally, she enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating and cooking, baking and entertaining with her family and roooting for her beloved Chicago Cubs and Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

Her reputation of love, acceptance and generosity touched the lives of many, and her strength was her family; through them anything was possible for her.
