IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven
Steele
December 12, 1955 – October 26, 2025
Pastor Steven Steele, 69, of Jones, Michigan went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The second youngest of fourteen children, Steven was born on December 12, 1955, in Niles, Michigan, to the late Alvin and Doris (Brown) Steele.
On August 5, 1978, he married the love of his life, Brenda (Litwiller) Steele, in Cassopolis, Michigan.
Growing up in a large, close knit family, Steven was preceded in death by nine siblings. Steven is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Brenda; daughters Stephanie (Paul), Shannon (Joseph), and Sierra; beloved grandchildren Kennedy, Emmanuel, Camryn, Connor, and Elizabeth; siblings Alma Glover, Lois Douglas, Brent Steele, and Helen Gray; as well as many close nieces, nephews, and cousins that he treated as his own children.
A 1974 graduate of Constantine High School, Steven went on to earn his degree in Biblical Ministries from Bethel University.
He faithfully served as Associate Pastor at People's Protestant Church in Cassopolis for many years, and since 1997, he has pastored at Kessington Community Church in Edwardsburg, Michigan. Steven was deeply committed to serving others through prison ministry, food pantry outreach, Christmas gift outreach for children of inmates, and community Bible studies. He was an approachable and relatable shepherd to all.
Steven was an avid lover of nature who enjoyed fishing and the occasional hunt. He appreciated a good game of cards and tinkering with anything that had a motor. He loved taking leisurely drives with his wife, Brenda, and lived to make her smile.
Curious and hardworking, Steven possessed a quick wit and a mischievous sense of humor. Above all, he was a devoted family man who deeply loved his family and his church family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren.
Steven never met a stranger, and he will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched. In keeping with his generous spirit, Steven chose to continue helping others through tissue donation.
