BRISTOL — Steven J. "Steve" Scharrer, 50, of Bristol, passed away Sunday, April 19, while in his residence.
He was born Dec. 8, 1964, in Elkhart, to Donald J. and Carol M. (Miers) Scharrer.
On Oct. 24, 1987, he married his wife of 27 years, Wendi S. (Williams) Scharrer.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include three sons, Adam Mendez of Elkhart, Cameron (Janell) Scharrer of Ogden, Utah, and Brennan Scharrer of Cincinnati; one daughter, Gabrielle Scharrer of Elkhart; two sisters, Cynthia (Eric) Diamond of South Bend and Michele (Chris) Habic of Cassopolis, Mich.; father Donald (Sue) Scharrer of Elkhart; and two grandsons, Conner Boyll and Jasper Boyll, both of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Steve was a graduate of Elkhart Central High School. He was the president of Don's Printing in Elkhart for many years. Steve was considered to be the best friend to everyone he knew and was a truly loving and dedicated husband and father.
He and his family often enjoyed fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes and mountain biking. Steve especially loved spending time outdoors with his family and his friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Billings Funeral Home, and for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home. Father Daniel Repp will officiate. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Steve to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
