Steven E. "Steve" Neel, 50, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Elkhart on August 30, 1971, to the late Malvin E. and Diana L. (Henderson) Neel.

Steve is survived by his sister, Shelly Neel, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Olive West Cemetery, 61081 County Road 3, Elkhart, IN with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. Steve's services are entrusted under the care of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. Memorial donations may be given to the donor's choice.

Steve loved helping Grandpa on the farm as a child. Grandpa passed away, but Steve continued to love farming. He did corn detassling during summer break for many years and was able to obtain some livestock. He obtained an Agricultural Degree from Black Hawk College in Illinois. He worked at various farms and also as a greeter at Meijer. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed spending time with his friends and cheering on his favorite teams; The Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame, and the Chicago White Socks. Steve will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
