Stephen Ira "Steve" Rose, of Elkhart, passed to his rest on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his home, in the love and comfort of his wife and family. Steve was born on May 15, 1956, in Goshen, to the late W. Ira and Lou Ella (Ruble) Rose.

Steve leaves behind wife, Michelle K. (Huffman) Rose.  She survives, along with sons Patrick (Tonya) Rose; and his children Payton, Aiden, Presley and Phlynn and son Joseph Rose and Joseph's 2 children as well. He also has a great grandson Dallas Miles, He had one stepson James (Jessica) Walters and his 3 children Brandon, Carter and Faith Floor.  Stephen also had a daughter Stephanie Miller, and an adopted daughter Heather (Brian Mabie) Bell; as well as his sister Pamela (Larry) Peters; and three nieces.

Steve spent approximately 27 years in Tool and Die work.  He was honored to have security clearance to work on Aircraft at Bendix. In his later years, he had a cleaning company.

In December of 1998 he married his wife, with whom he had been friends since age 10.

He loved drag racing, riding motorcycles and working on funny cars in his younger years.  He was disabled due to bone spurs on his spine.  He never let that stop him from trying anything. During the summers, he maintained and updated the pool, and no one else was allowed to touch it!  He was a kind man with a huge heart and leaves a legacy of love and charity.

Services celebrating the life of Steve Rose will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the First Brethren Church, 24197 Co Rd. 16, Elkhart, IN 46516.  Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
