Stephen Molnar, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Majestic Healthcare in Goshen.
Stephen was born on May 11, 1946 in Edwardsburg, MI to the late Frank and Margaret (Vargo) Molnar. He is married for 21 years to Mary (Fisher) Molnar.
Stephen is preceded in death by brother, John Molnar and sister, Elizabeth Hoffer.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Molnar of Elkhart; children, Sabrina Molnar-Marshall (Geo), Farrah (Brad) Burkhart, Thaddeus (Kim) Molnar and Seth (Colleen) Molnar; stepchildren, Chad (Katie) Johnson, Jeremy (Amber) Johnson, Diana (Charles) Crawford, Dorothy (Zach) Matthys and Debbie (Jake) Litaker; grandchildren, Saige (Dave), Bailey, Maxwell, Luciava, Tanner, Brady, Jackson, Alyssa, Havana, Cloe, Morgan, Kelsee, Avery, Chase, Sydney, Cal, Alex, Braxton Dawson and a grandchild on the way; brothers and sisters, Frank Molnar, Mary Martin, James "Jim" Molnar and Christine Kloswick; great granddaughters, Paisley, Jayda and Layla and his faithful furry companion, Tulip.
Stephen loved his country and he honorably served in the U.S. Air Force Unit 931 and later in the Air Force Reserves for 22 years. He was a member of the DAV 19 and Elkhart Masonic Lodge.
In his working years, Stephen worked for GTE phone company for most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and metal detecting.
Family was everything and he was the glue that kept the family together. He hosted many family get togethers and holidays; cooking and baking his "World Famous Meals" and new recipes for his loved ones.
Stephen was known as "Mr. Fix it". From home improvement to current events there was not a problem he couldn't be relied upon to solve.
There will be no services at this time but a celebration of life at a later date.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
