BOOMER, N.C. -- Steven Joseph Gibson, 47, of Boomer, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died at 9:55 a.m. Dec. 1, 2009, in his home after an extended illness.
He was born May 27, 1962, in Brooklyn to Frederick and Barbara (Macavy) Gibson, both of whom preceded him in death, as did two sisters, Joan Marie Sizemore and Dawn Veronica Gibson; and one brother, Ramsey Charles Gibson.
Survivors include one son, Steven J. Gibson of Elkhart; one daughter, Ashley N. Seabolt of Elkhart; four sisters, Cathy (Carlos) Roblos of Biloxi, Miss., Virginia Replogle of Boomer, and Nicki Gibson and Elizabeth Ball, both of Winchester, Ky.; one brother, Frederick J. Gibson of Boomer; and his stepmother, Sudie Gibson of Winchester.
Mr. Gibson worked at Patriot Home for nearly 10 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and listening to rock-n-roll music. He will be remembered as a dear friend to many and for his dedication to his family.
A gathering of friends will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where the memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. Pastor Dale Turner will officiate.
