Stephen D. "Steve" Berger, 82, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Greenleaf Health Campus. He was born in Elkhart, IN on July 19, 1942, to the late V. Dale and Eileen (Berry) Berger.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Ann (Brown) Berger of Elkhart; daughters, Melissa (Myles) Miner of Goshen; Melinda (David) Lorence of Elkhart; grandchildren, Myleah Miner, Micaiah Miner, and Max Lorence; and brothers, Jim Berger of Dallas, TX and Gene (Theresa) Berger of Goshen, IN.

In accordance with Steve's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart with Pastor Joseph Fox officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 111 Sunnybrook Ct, South Bend, IN 46637. The family has entrusted Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart to assist with arrangements.

Steve graduated from Concord High School in 1960 and was the proud owner of Careers Unlimited Inc. for 30 years. He enjoyed traveling around the United States, especially his yearly visits to Mackinac Island. Steve also enjoyed photography, antiques, and pursuing his interest in the civil war and President Abraham Lincoln.

Steve loved his family and always took very good care of them. The family would like to thank Greenleaf Health Campus for their kind and loving care that they have given him for the last couple years. Steve will be dearly missed.
