Stephanie J. Dalton-Hillyer, 53, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at her home.

Stephanie was born on January 27, 1973 in Elkhart, IN to John Dalton, Jr. and Suzanne (Burnham) Dalton. She married Brian Hillyer after 11 years of being together.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Dalton. Stephanie is survived by her husband, Brian Hillyer of Elkhart; daughters, Katie (Robert) Figueroa of FL and Breanna Cooper, both of FL; mother, Suzanne (Burnham) Dalton of Franklin, NC; 4 grandchildren; and sister, Angela Dalton.

Stephanie had a deep love for animals and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including crossword puzzles and time spent at the beach. She was known for her vibrant personality. Stephanie was always the center of attention, warm, friendly, and outgoing. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others and formed lifelong friendships wherever she went. Stephanie will be remembered for her kindness, her energy, and the lasting impression she made on all who knew her.

There will be no services at this time. Per the family’s request, Stephanie will be cremated. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Wounded Warriors Foundation.
