ELKHART -- Friends of Stanley A. McKrill may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Wednesday funeral service at Grace Bible Church. The Rev. Mike Fisher, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Bristol, where military graveside services will be conducted by a United States Marine Corps honor guard.

Mr. McKrill, 72, of 23514 Creek Park Drive, died at 2:25 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 26, 2006) at home. He had been ill for two months.

He was born April 10, 1934, in Bourbon to Raymond C. and Ethlyn Warren, and was raised by his father and stepmother, Helen McKrill. He married Ethel M. Walther on June 9, 1956.

She survives, along with one son, Denny (Susie) McKrill of Elkhart; three daughters, Deb (Chris) Reynolds, Kim Berry and Kathy (Max) Wienhoft, all of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Warren McKrill.

Mr. McKrill was employed by Federal Paperboard for 35 years, from 1953 to 1988, and Selmer for 10 years, from 1988 until his retirement in 1998. He was a 1954 graduate of Elkhart High School and a member of Grace Bible Church.

Mr. McKrill celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2006, was an avid NBA fan and enjoyed his dogs and classic cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.
