Shirley Ann (Wise) Carrell ,79, of Elkhart, passed away at her daughter's home on Monday, May 24, 2021.

Shirley was born on July 8, 1941 in Jimtown, IN to Samuel Wise and Wilma (Lechlitner) Powell. She was married to the late, Kenneth Carrell on Sept. 17, 1960 in Centerville, MI. He passed away on Sept. 27, 2011.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Arthur, Dick and Ronny Wise; Donna Wise and Mary Garner.

Shirley is survived by her children, Kenneth R. Carrell, James (Helen) Carrell, Barbara (Phillip) Wenger and Gayle (Dale) Brooks; grandchildren, Ted, Jill, Eric, Aaron, Quinton and Trent; great grandchildren, Nicolas, Lucas, Piper and Sophie; and like a second mom to Tecia and Tammy.

Shirley was a member of Open Sky Ministries. She enjoyed hunting for mushrooms, gardening, canning and travelling. Shirley also enjoyed camping at Lake Holcomb with her late husband.

Shirley loved her dogs and her pet chickens. In her free time, she watched Fox News. Shirley especially admired the wildlife at her daughter's home. Most of all, Shirley loved her family.

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at the Omega Center, 2130 Middlebury St., Elkhart at 12:00 pm noon on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Visitation for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with a Funeral Service to following at 1:00 PM. Pastor Robert Lambert is officiating. Burial will follow at Olive East Cemetery.
