Obituary
ELKHART — Shirley May VanDouser, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1940, in Cedar Grove, W.Va, to Clarence Walter and Nellie Madeline (Hackworth) Craigo.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, John R. VanDouser of Elkhart; one son, Michael Skaggs of South Bend; one daughter, Sheila (Jeff) Gordy of Elkhart; and four grandchildren, Ryan Skaggs of Elkhart, Rachael (Zack) Corpe of Indianapolis, Dylan Gordy of Elkhart and Muriah King of Terre Haute.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Shirley was employed with Whitehall Laboratories Inc. for several years prior to her retirement.
A gathering of family and friends will be two hours prior to the 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Jeffrey Lewis will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Child and Parent Services of Elkhart County in memory of Shirley.
