Shirley Jean Robinson, 82, of Elkhart, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley Jean Robinson was born on August 31, 1940 in Reverie, Tennessee to Ester Mae Stevens and Willie Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Willie Stevens, aunt's Matte Battle, Lonnie Rogers, cousin, Ruth Davis and her cousin, Mildred Loggins (whom was like a sister).

Shirley is survived by her one and only daughter, Ann Wright of Elkhart, IN; granddaughter, Constance (Michael) Parish of Indianapolis, IN; grandsons, Conregan (Melissa) Robinson and Joshua Robinson; 5 great grandchildren, Alonna Parish, Madison Parish, Kinsley Robinson, Jacobi Robinson and Zaylen Robinson, a special cousin, Emma Flowers of Hayti, MO; her sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Shirley retired as a school bus driver with Elkhart Community Schools after over 40 years of service. She also worked at Strauss Bakery, Elkhart Police Department and the City of Elkhart Parks and Recreation.

Shirley loved her Lord and embraced her Baptist faith.

Shirley was a wonderful cook and enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was a loving and caring woman, and she never met a stranger.

Shirley loved spending time with her friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Private Celebration of Life Service for Shirley will be held at a later date. Per Shirley's request, she will be cremated.
