ELKHART — Shirley A. Murphy, 84, of Elkhart, passed away at 11:11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart, following an extended illness.
She was born in Elkhart on July 30, 1931, to the late Alpha and Linda (Droegmiller) Haven.
Surviving are her children, Melissa (Robert) French of Cassopolis, Mich., Linda (Allen) Warner of Edwardsburg, Mich., Debra Mast of Elkhart and Jon (Donna) Murphy of Janesville, Wis.; her sister, Gloria Hein of Goshen; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Iris Murphy, and nine siblings preceded Shirley in death.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart, followed by a funeral at 2 p.m. Chaplain John Schrock of Harbor Lights Hospice will officiate. Cremation will follow. Burial will take place in Rice Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date.
Shirley was a home health nurse in the Elkhart area for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Harbor Lights Hospice.
