ELKHART — Shirley M. Marshall, 86, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Sept. 2, 2017, at her home.

Shirley was born May 25, 1931, in Milton, Ontario, Canada, to the late Kenneth M. and Mary (Wales) Coxe.

She married R. Bruce Marshall on May 6, 1950. He died May 20, 2000.

Surviving are her children, Peggy (Tim) Frick of Bristol, Brenda Marshall-Minelli of Venice, Florida, Mike (Cindy) Marshall and Donna (Pat) Forrest, both of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren survive as well.

In addition to her parents, a daughter Janet M. Kine, two granddaughters, Leslie Noel Marshall and Lindsay Marshall Minelli and nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was an avid dog lover, enjoyed bowling and was of the Presbyterian faith.

In honoring her wishes, cremation was chosen.

Services will be private, with burial in Rice Cemetery.

The family kindly request memorials to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
