Shirley A. Woodworth, 79, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Shirley was born on February 12, 1943 in Edmonson Co., KY to the late, Jack W. and Reathel (Basham) Gibson.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Blanton.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Rick (Vicky) Kraus and Terry (Candi) Kraus both of Elkhart; brother, Jim (Grace) Blanton of Valparaiso; sister, Janet (Dan) Harris of Portage, IN; 6 grandchildren, Tony, Laci, Sommer, Paige, Cody and Laura; 2 step grandchildren, Layne and Cassady; and 4 great grandchildren, Jaiden, Micah, Willow and Addie.

Shirley worked as a professional hairstylist for over 50 years most recently at  Aquarius Hair Design. She also enjoyed painting and drawing in her spare time.

Shirley was loving mom, grandmother and friend whom always cared for others before herself. She had a great sense of humor but she was a lady you wouldn't want to mess with.

There will be no services for Shirley and per her wishes, she will be cremated. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
