Union - The world lost a beloved mother, Shirley A. Tulley, 83, on Friday, December 18th.  She passed away in her home surrounded by her children after a brief battle with cancer. Her illness never stopped her from spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by Cindy (Paul Jacobus)Young, Kathy (Rick Schultz)Tulley, Mike Tulley (Niki), Chris Stacey (Joe), Kim Spencer (Jeff), and Susie May (Jim). Her twelve grandchildren; Gillian and Graham Young, Macey and Madisyn Tulley, Caroline Silveus (Nate) and Annemarie Stacey, Dustin, Jacob and Jared Spencer, Emily, Parker and Lucas May.  All made her the role of Grandma, which she especially cherished.

Shirley was born in Mattoon, Illinois on April 13, 1937. She was an only child of Ralph and Mary Ellen Bails of Elkhart, Indiana. Shirley graduated from Elkhart High School. She later married Paul R. Tulley on November 21, 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, both of her parents and grandson, Michael May.

Shirley best loved spending time with her family on the lake where she lived for 56 years. Boating, bonfires, riding her lawn tractor, tending to her birds, and playing cards were all moments she treasured. Even with a large family, Shirley always made time for everyone. She and her husband Paul worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. While she wasn't one to boast, the happiness she felt for them could be heard in her laughter and words.

A private family mass will be celebrated in memory of Shirley on December 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Bristol, IN. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery. Mass will be live-streamed through St. Mary's Facebook page. Memorial donations may be given to the church. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are assisting the family.
