LKHART — Sherwyn D. "Sheena" Harris, 59, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, July 31, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born in Haiti, Mo., to John Edwards Cooper and Jesse Harris.
Surviving are her children, Duane (Rene) Harris and Andrea L. Harris; three grandchildren; mother Jesse Harris; and siblings Ralph, Reggie and Gaven Harris, Wilbur and Randy Robinson and Demeta Harris.
Her father, John E. Cooper, preceded her in death.
Sheena graduated from Elkhart Central High School and Ball State University with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in social work. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She worked for ADEC, Oaklawn and Damar Services of Elkhart. Sheena enjoyed reading and walking at the track at Pierre Moran. Most of all she loved her family and her career of being a caregiver and helping others.
Visitation will be for an hour prior to the 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, funeral service at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 228 Chapman Ave., Elkhart. The Rev. Clarence Jones will officiate. Cremation will follow services.
Billings Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
