Sherry Kay Vance, 58, of Elkhart, passed away Monday evening, October 25, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital, with her husband Mark holding her hand. Sherry was born on October 21, 1963 in Crawfordsville, Indiana to the late James Donald Surber and Della (Dalby) Surber. In addition to her parents, two sisters, Teresa McKinny and Terry McDaniel preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Mark L. Vance; 3 loving children, Mark (Lisa) Vance, Eric (Sierra Piper) Vance and a daughter Dana (Nick) Guyton; also surviving are her 7 precious grandchildren, 6 boys and a girl; brother James D. Surber, and sisters Penny (Kenny) Lester and Barbara (Richard) Austin as well as several nieces and nephews

Sherry attended South Montgomery High School, she met a young man named Mark at a party, he was a little rough around the edges, but he won her over and 6 months later they were married on June 9, 1984 in Crawfordsville. She was a loving wife, mother and loved to spoil her grandbabies. Family was everything to her. She liked stock car racing and going to the Four Winds Casino.

A gathering of family and friends for Sherry will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. A procession will then leave for the 2:30 p.m. graveside service at Olive West Cemetery.

After the cemetery service. A celebration of life service for Sherry will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Point Church 54662 Ash Road, Osceola, IN 46561. Friends may begin meeting the family a ½ hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Mike Swinehart will officiate.
