Obituary

Sherry Linn Sayles, 82, of Edwardsburg, MI passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday. February 11, 2026 at her home.

Sherry was born to Charles W. and Zella M. (Lang) Miller on January 21, 1944 in Beaumont, TX. Sherry married the love of her life, Douglas W. Sayles on October 12, 1963 in Goshen, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert H. Miller, Richard C. Miller, Harry J. Miller and a sister, Bonnie C. Roberts.

Sherry’s husband of 62 years, Douglas whom survives along with son, Ron H. (Robin) Sayles of White Pigeon, MI and daughter, Shelly (David) Langshaw of Mary Esther, FL; granddaughter, Crystal (Bill) Miller of Edwardsburg, MI; great grandchildren, Paige and Bailey and grandchildren, Angie and Kaycee.

Sherry graduated from Goshen High School and continued her education at Indiana University South Bend (IUSB) as well as several credit accreditation schools. She dedicated 25 years of employment to Babsco before pursuing her entrepreneurial spirit, becoming self-employed for 12 years through her basketry business, where she both shared her work and taught those skills. Sherry was also a dealer for several years at the 820 Antique Mall.

A devoted member of First United Methodist Church, Sherry faithfully served for 25 years, interpreting in sign language during Sunday worship services and Sunday school classes. Most recently, she was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Edwardsburg, Michigan.

In her spare time, she found great joy in traditional rug hooking, ribbon embroidery, cooking, gardening, and antiquing.

Sherry was the beloved matriarch of her family. She was creative, detail-oriented, and passionate in all that she pursued. Though she was outgoing and strong-willed, she was, above all, the loving heart of her family.

A Celebration of Life for Sherry will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Rd., Edwardsburg, MI 49112.

Friends and family may visit from 10:00am to 12:00pm, 2 hours prior to the start of the service at the church.

A private burial will be at Violett Cemetery in Goshen after the service.
