Sheila Marie Jacobs, 66, of Elkhart, the best mother that God created for us, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Sheila was born on November 17, 1958 in South Bend, IN to the late, Charles "Charlie" and Ida (Oliver) Ellsworth. She married the love of her life, Larry D. Jacobs in Elkhart, IN on August 16, 1973. He passed away on December 10, 2007.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Larry D. Jacobs Jr., and brother, Charlie "Bug" Ellsworth.

Sheila is survived by her children, Laramy D. (Kristy) Jacobs, Jason (Angela) Jacobs and Lisa Marie Jacobs (Mario Trevino); 12 grandchildren, Clarrissa, Nicholas, Logan, Keaton, Jaxon, Kyler, Jared, Justin, Chaicee (Blake), Zack, Tayla, Doss and Steven; great grandchildren, Carter, Janessa, Calvin, Jocelyn, Jasai, Jovanny, Piper, Colt and Elva; brothers, Steve "Skip" , Patrick and Robin; sister, Rhonda "Sue" (Jack), Penny, Darla "Dody", Karla (Dewey), Cindy (Brian), and Misty.

Sheila was a hard worker working as a waitress at Shoney's Restaurant, Statewide Aluminum and Fallon Medical in Montana and finally at Beacon Medical Hospital (Elkhart General).

In her spare time, she travelled with her family and enjoyed watching people live there best life. She watched old tv shows and later in life spoiled herself and the ones she loved with gifts from her shopping excursions.

Most of all, her family especially her grandchildren, were her world. Sheila was a simple and proper lady whom handled any tough situation with love and a smile. The peace that she brought to this world will be missed by those that knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Sheila's life at 5:00 PM EST on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the start of the service from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
