ELKHART — Sharon Kay Rinaldi, 79, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, at Elkhart Hospice House after an extended illness.
Sharon was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Elkhart, to Arthur Monroe and Mary Alice (Atkinson) Mabie.
She married Angelo P. Rinaldi July 8, 1966, in Elkhart. Angelo died Nov. 8, 2014.
Surviving are her daughter, Michelle (Stephen) Rose of Elkhart; grandson James Walters of Elkhart; stepson Jim Rinaldi of Cromwell; stepgranddaughter Burgundy Rinaldi of Cromwell; and brothers Thomas (Sandy) Mabie Sr. and Daniel Mabie, both of Elkhart. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Rolland and Gary Mabie, and a sister, Vicki Morris.
Sharon was a homemaker. She formerly worked at the Neighborhood Inn and at Cappy's Northside Tavern and Restaurant. She was a member of the Women of the Moose No.599. She loved playing poker, doing crossword puzzles and electronic handheld games.
Services celebrating Sharon's life will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dan Herendeen will officiate. Her wishes were to be cremated.
Burial will be at a later date in Prairie Street Cemetery.
