Sharon Joy Johnson, 78, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Elkhart General Hospital, following a short illness. Sharon was born on October 6, 1944, in Elkhart, to the late Henry and Esther (Pinkowski) Mixtacki.

Surviving is a daughter, Michele Hollingsworth; four grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) Wiborn, Alyssa (Eric) Foley, Austin Baker, Julia Baker; and five great grandchildren, Twins Ethan & Aidan Lay, Camden Wiborn, Aiden Foley, and Kingston Foley; and daughter in law, Jennifer Baker. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Brian "Jeff" Baker, on July 14, 2016.

Sharon attended St. Joseph High School. She started her career working in the RV Industry. Sharon went on to work for Miles Laboratories (Bayer) as an accounting clerk, retiring in 2003 after 25 years of service.

Sharon was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, where she volunteered in various ministries and was active in the rosary society.

Friends may call for 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St. Elkhart. Rev Levi Nkwocha will officiate. Cremation was chosen and will follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly requested to the church.
