ELKHART -- Sharon Ann Garofalo, 60, of Whitfield Court, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday (July 8, 2007) at Hospice House, South Bend, after a battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 7, 1947, in Lawrence, Mass., to John and Ann (Skulski) Fair. She married Fred Garofalo on Dec. 18, 1966, in Andover, Mass.

He survives along with two sons, Anthony (Ria) Garofalo of Nashua, N.H., and Nicholas Garofalo of Alpharetta, Ga.; twin daughters Lisa (Erik) Krebs of Longmont, Colo., and Kim (Adam) Glaser of Tualitin, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and three sisters, Sheila (Jack) Tole of Pleasanton, Calif., Donna (Joe) Routhier of Atkinson, N.H., and Janice Fair of North Andover, Mass.

A private family visitation will take place. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., with the Rev. Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.

Mrs. Garofalo graduated in 1964 from Andover High School, Andover, Mass. She was a homemaker who formerly worked for the IRS as a key card punch operator. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Mrs. Garofalo was creative and enjoyed rubber stamping on wood and cards and sharing the items with friends and family members. She published a book of short stories and wrote special interest stories for local newspapers.
