Sharon Eleanor Latzke, 81, of Elkhart, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Sharon was born on January 15, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Hazen and Loraine (Melchert) Hintz. On February 6, 1971, she married the love of her life, Wilhelm “Bill” John Latzke.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Bill Latzke of Elkhart; her children, Michael (Stephanie) Latzke of Walled Lake, Michigan, Kenneth (Amanda) Latzke of St. John, Indiana, and Julie (Jim) Kelly of Elkhart, Indiana; beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Kate, Brady, Bethany, and Logan; and her brother, Gary (Beverly) Hintz of Houston, Texas. 

After raising her family, Sharon worked for 20 years as a pharmacy technician at Walmart. She and Bill have been faithful members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bremen for many years. As a Christian role model, she truly had a servant heart throughout her life, and especially in recent years as she lovingly cared for Bill.

One of Sharon’s greatest joys was spending time with family. She loved playing games with her kids and grandchildren. Sharon enjoyed hosting many family get-togethers through the years, and will be remembered by many for providing a welcoming and loving home to all who gathered there. She was warm and caring, bringing comfort and peace to those around her.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen, IN 46506, with Pastor Neil Wonnacott officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Burial with a graveside service will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Cemetery, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.
