ELKHART — Sharon J. (Ratliff) Douglas, 67, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born May 27, 1944, in Detroit to the late Woodrow Wilson and Madie (Hampton) Ratliff.
Surviving are a daughter, Trena (Matt) Bauer; sons Lloyd James Tanner and Billy Douglas Jr.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Adkins, Penny (Dallas) Damron, Dialene (Bill) Irelan, April (Jose) Salas, Mary (Carl) Smith and Delphia Reynolds; and a brother, Roger Ratliff.
Brothers Richard and Vernon Ratliff and sisters Janice Culbreath and Sandra Rohn preceded her in death.
Sharon was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and writing poetry.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon's life will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 53953 C.R. 17, Elkhart. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Cremation has taken place at Altera Cremation Services under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.
