ELKHART — Sharleen R. Potterbaum, 58, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, Jan. 19.
She was born, in Elkhart, Dec. 9, 1958, to the late Ray and Charlene (Bennett) Dickerhoff, and later married Larry Potterbaum in Elkhart in 1986. He survives her at home.
Also surviving are her son, Eric (Amber) Potterbaum, daughter Ashley Potterbaum and her brother, Jim Dickerhoff, all of Elkhart.
A memorial celebration of Sharleen's life will take place at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
Sharleen worked at the Bayer Corp. and then ran Pottzie's Italian Eatery in Michigan City with her husband until 2002. She was very active with Boy Scout Troop 122 of Osceola, and mentored and assisted more than 15 young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
