ELKHART — Shateka Marie Neal, 26, of Elkhart, passed away of a sudden illness Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Indianapolis while visiting a friend.
She was born Oct. 4, 1985, in Elkhart to Anthony R. Young and Penny Neal.
Surviving are her father, Anthony R. (Tameca Nava) Young of Elkhart; a sister, Roshae Nava of Elkhart; grandfathers A.D. Franklin of Elkhart and Julius Young of Stuttgart, Ark.; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by grandmothers Janet Tinsley and Bessie Young.
At this time no formal services have been scheduled and Shateka is to be cremated, with burial at Prairie Street Cemetery to take place at a later date. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Shateka's memory may be given to her father, Anthony. Online condolences may be left at the funeral home's website.
