ELKHART — Shaine Lee Benn, 27, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Aug. 27, 1985, in Elkhart to Darren Lee Benn and Julia G. (Davidson) Berkshire.
On May 5, 2013, he married Stephanie N. (Dixon) Benn in Elkhart.
In addition to his wife and mother, other survivors include two brothers, Luke Benn of Elkhart and Eric Berkshire of Elkhart; paternal grandmother Barb L. Benn of Elkhart; maternal grandmother Flora (Harold) Rose of Elkhart; mother-in-law Jill Dixon of Elkhart; father-in-law Warren Dixon III of Elkhart; and a sister-in-law, Angela (Joaquin) Alvarado of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darren Lee Benn.
Shaine attended Elkhart Central High School and was later employed with his father's lawn care business for many years.
Shaine enjoyed walks in the park, spending time with his four dogs, watching movies and gardening.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. Pastor Dwight Gosser of New Life Christian Center will officiate. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services.
