BRISTOL — Scott L. Harris, 59, of Bristol, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital at 7:52 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, following a sudden illness.

He was born June 9, 1955, in South Bend to the late William R. Harris and Gweneth (Strope) Harris. His mother survives him in Elkhart.

Surviving are his sons, Brian Harris of Fort Worth, Texas, and Chad Harris of Three Rivers, Mich.; sisters Kim Alisch of Stevensville, Mich., and Beverly "Bev" Harris of Elkhart; brother William (Dianna) Harris of Elkhart; and his grandson, Brendon Harris.

A son, Mark A. Harris, also preceded him in death.

In accordance with his wishes, Scott is to be cremated. A memorial service will take place at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Phil Houser, a family friend, will officiate.

Scott worked nearly his entire life in the RV industry, but he most recently worked as a customer service representative at Evergreen RV in Middlebury. He was an avid Michigan fan and Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and fixing up his house. He also served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Independence.
