Obituary
ELKHART — Sarah C. Serafino, 95, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, April 29, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Nappanee, to Amos and Luetta M. (Shaffer) Ruff.
Survivors include one daughter, Andrea (Amer) Ibrahim of North Royalton, Ohio; one son, Steven (Kathy) Serafino of Elkhart; one sister, Esther Kintzel of Wakarusa; one sister-in-law, Patricia Ruff of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Emily, David and Amelia Serafino, all of Elkhart, and Olivia and Joseph Ibrahim, both of North Royalton; and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Benjamin and James Ruff; and three sisters, Ivy Jenson, Cora Ruff and Opal Sponseller.
Sarah was previously employed at Vincent Bach and later worked with her son in the restaurant business for 30 years after her retirement.
The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Ken Koontz will officiate. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, in Bremen Cemetery in Bremen.
