WHITE PIGEON, Mich. — Mrs. Sandra Kay "Sandy" Seabolt, 72, of White Pigeon, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, following an extended illness.
She was born in Elkhart, Ind., Feb. 5, 1943, to the late Donald and Helen (Overholtzer) Sailor Watson, and later married Donald E. "Don" Seabolt Jan. 5, 1960, who survives her at home. They were blessed to have been able to have renewed their wedding vows on their 50th anniversary in 2010.
Also surviving are her daughter, Iris Sandra Seabolt of Indianapolis; sister Gloria (Jim) Storey of White Pigeon; brothers Danny (Linda) Sailor of Three Rivers, and Rick (Terry) Sailor of Shipshewana, Ind.; grandchildren Brian (Kelly) Seabolt and Steven Gibson of Elkhart, and Ashley Seabolt of Madison, Ind.; great-grandchildren Brenden and Kaylee Seabolt and McKenna and Dawson Rink; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A son, James Seabolt, and a brother, Jerry Sailor, preceded Sandy in death.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, with visitation beginning there at 2 p.m. Pastor Kenneth Lacefield will officiate and cremation will follow the services.
Sandy retired from Geo-Cel of Elkhart in 1997 for health reasons after having worked there more than 20 years. She was a devout member of the Whosoever Will Worship Center, an accomplished gospel singer, and took great pride in her yard and flowers. She will be best remembered for her love and devotion to her roles as wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.
