Obituary

Samuel “Dion” Stout, Jr., 53, of Goshen, passed away on Thursday, September 3 2026 at Goshen Hospital.

Dion was born in Elkhart, IN on February 21, 1973 to Samuel R. Stout Sr., and Shirley (Jacobs) Stout.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Shirley and his beloved wife, Jada.

Dion is survived by his daughter, Kira Stout and stepchildren, Aliza Jackson and Jamica Morgan; brother, Steven M. Stout; and sister, Shemiko (John Jr.) Stout-Warren and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dion was a gentle soul, quiet by nature, and a deeply talented artist. Throughout his career, he worked as a salesman at Rent-A-Center and as a forklift driver at Godfrey Marine. Outside of work, he found great joy in his passion for his art especially with action figures and cartoons (AI being one he’s adopted recently) and also in collecting vintage toys.

Above all, family was everything to Dion. He will be loved eternally and greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Danny Brown officiating.

Friends and family visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held immediately afterwards at Little Pine Cemetery.
