ELKHART -- Sam Green Jr., 67, of Elkhart, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.
Born March 3, 1944, in Drew, Miss., to the late Sam and M. Irene (Chrisler) Green Sr., he married Adrienne E. Falk in 1977 in South Bend, where she survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Sam (Mistine) Green of North Carolina, Anthony "Tony" (Michelle) Green of Granger, Steve and Michael Green, both of South Bend, and Bradley Shane King and James Patrick Falk, also both of South Bend; as well as a host of siblings who live in the Chicago area.
No services have been planned at this time, and cremation has taken place. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is assisting the family during this time.
Sam was a painter for more than 30 years at AMC Corp. in Mishawaka, retiring in 2000. During his employment he met President Richard M. Nixon and Arnold Schwarzenegger when they came to visit the plant. He was a member of UAW Local 5.
