Samuel Joseph "Sam" Cuvo, 74, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at his home in the comfort of love and his family. A native of Easton, Pennsylvania, Sam was born on September 10, 1945 to John and Angelina (Bifarella) Cuvo.
After graduating from High School, Sam enlisted in the U.S. Army starting in 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1966 and continued to serve in the Army for 26 years, reaching the rank of a Staff Sergeant E-6.
Sam, a city guy met and married Jessica J. Rittenhouse an Easton Co. country gal on September 15, 1967 in Easton. Surviving is his wife of 52 years Jessica, sons Keith (Shelley) Cuvo, Ken Gonyon and Samuel Lobb, daughter Louise (Ron) Gagham; as well as 5 grandchildren; Derek Cuvo, Dayne Cuvo, Kenny Sandt, Brian Sandt and Nick Fretz.
Sam enjoyed watching WWII documentaries, going to car shows with his son Keith, and would do just about anything for anyone in need. His sense of love and duty was respected and admired by all.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Kim Marie Cuvo and his brother Roy Cuvo.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 pm Friday, June 19, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. At 4:00 pm Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard and the Elkhart DAV Chapter #19. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date at Prairie Street Cemetery.
