ELKHART — Samuel W. Hill, 86, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Elkhart General Hospital on Thursday, June 7, 2018.

Sam was born Oct. 2, 1931, and married the late Virginia Norment in 1954. She passed in Elkhart in 2010.

Surviving are his daughter, Vicki (William) Ayers; 11 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, and daughters Judy Hill and Marla Ishmael, and son Gary Hill.

In accordance with Sam's wishes, cremation is to take place with the assistance of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart. Burial in Olive Cemetery in Elkhart will be at a later date.

Sam was a serviceman for trailers and modular homes.

He was an U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.

Memorials may be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
