Sally Eleanor (Alwine) Hobson, 92, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2023 at her home, with Sue and Bradley at her side. Sally was born December 16, 1930 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Russell and Margret (Schick) Alwine. She married her true love Richard H. "Dick" Hobson, they took off on a Harley and eloped in 1948. Dick died on March 25, 2015 after 67 years of marriage.

Surviving are daughters, Christine Artley, Sue Hobson, Lynne (Charles) Stuart, son Richard Hobson and her sister Betty Bond. Also 7 loving grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Dick, three brothers, Joel, Chuck and Ray Alwine; and two sisters Arlene Carboneau and Shirley Burton preceded her death.

Sally worked as a seamstress for Elkhart Drapery Shop. Sally and her sister would sew the drapes and Dick and Dallas Myers, her brother in law would install them.  Dick was important to her, she loved him and her kids more than anything, they often had to trade items when they didn't have any money and did trade the Harley to afford to take the kids skiing. Sally was very friendly, hardworking, and never knew a stranger. She liked to ride motorcycles, go skiing and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed collecting the original sculpted Cabbage Patch Dolls and loved her grand puppies.

Per her wishes, cremation was chosen. A graveside service will be held at a later date for Dick and Sally at Rice Cemetery. Rev. Arnell McCoy, ProMedica Hospice will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Animal Shelter, 2506 Grape Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545
