ELKHART -- Ruthmary "Ruth" Vollstedt, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Union, Mich., to the late Floyd and Bertha (Bellows) Rentfrow. She married Gustav E. "Gus" Vollstedt Jr. on Oct. 14, 1955. He passed away March 3, 2006.
Surviving are daughter Aloa Carlisle of Elkhart; son Lyle (Nita) Vollstedt of Granger; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister Mildred Lloyd of Nevada, Texas.
She was preceded in death by brothers Everett, Robert, William, Raymond, Dale, Ronald and Lyle Rentfrow; and sisters Vera Weybright and Doris Rentfrow.
Calling will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where a service to celebrate her life will begin at 2 p.m. Private burial will take place at Rice Cemetery.
Ruth was a homemaker and formerly worked at Adams and Westlake. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed family gatherings, word search and jigsaw puzzles.
Memorials may be given to her family.
