Ruth Ann Marie DeWitt, 59, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Ruth was born on June 5, 1961 to Robert Breben and Linda (Zygert) Steinhofer in South Bend. She was married to the love of her life Lelon "Hoss" Dewitt in 1980. She is preceded in death by her father.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lelon "Hoss" DeWitt of Elkhart; mother, Linda Steinhofer of Elkhart; children, Rickie DeWitt; Joshua L. DeWitt; Julie DeWitt; Jessica DeWitt and Melinda (Damon) Batz; 2 sisters, Sue (Bill) Cramer and Sherry (Dave) Elwell; 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Ruth worked in the RV industry as a cabinet maker and upholsterer for most of her life including Skyline Industries, Whelan Design and Godfrey Marina. She and her husband are members of World Harvest Church in Elkhart. Ruth enjoyed gardening, yard sales and auctions. She was caring and generous woman whom always thought of others before herself. Most of all, she was loving wife, mother and grandmother.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at World Harvest Church, 1610 S. Nappanee St., Elkhart with Pastor Nate Calaway officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10 am to 11 am before the service at the Church.  Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
