Ruth A. Wilson, 90, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 6:12 pm.  She was born Aug. 7, 1929 in Elkhart to the late Lawrence and Gladys (Haynes) Covey.

Surviving are children Susan Schmitt and Robert Wilson; brother Lawrence (Betty) Covey; sister Jorene (Bill) Kridler; grandchildren Ryan (Lindsay) Schmitt, Jennifer (Matt) Kobie and Matthew Schmitt and great grandson Caleb Schmitt. Brothers Russell and Donald Covey and sister Betty Shannon precede Ruth in death.

In accordance with family wishes, cremation is to take place and a private family burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are assisting the family with arrangements.

A life-long resident of Elkhart, Ruth worked at several area businesses including C.G. Conn, Cook's Department Store and Burnstine's.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially attending their school concerts. She attended all four years of Matt's marching band completions. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and in her younger years enjoyed gardening and growing tomatoes.
