July 15, 1920 - May 12, 2010

GOSHEN -- Ruth I. Weldy, 89, passed away Wednesday (May 12, 2010) at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen after an extended illness.

She was born July 15, 1920, in Elkhart, to Frank and Goldie (Mishler) Kreider. She married Lewis L. Weldy on March 2, 1940, in Goshen. He died on Nov. 13, 1998.

Survivors include son Michael Weldy of Elkhart; daughter Debra (Robert) Ryman of Bristol; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Mary Schrock and Florence Wagner and brothers Albert, Carl and Dayton Kreider.

A member of Little Pine Church of the Brethren, Goshen, she enjoyed cooking, doing seamstress work, crossword puzzles, camping, traveling and spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Little Pine Church of the Brethren, 57061 C.R. 19, Goshen. Pastor John McFarland will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting the family with arrangements .
