ELKHART — A. Ruth Moore, 84, of Elkhart, was discovered passed away from natural causes in her home at 10:12 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4.
She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Amity, Ark., to the late J. Earl and Serena (Buck) Still.
She married James A. Moore on Sept. 7, 1957, in Memphis, Tenn. He passed away in 1996.
Surviving are her daughter, Stephanie (Tom) Meyers of Elkhart; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A brother, Cleve Still, and a sister, Ozzie Mendenhall, preceded her in death.
In accordance with the family's wishes, Ruth has been cremated. A memorial service will be at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, with visitation beginning at noon. Pastor Jean Stockman will officiate. A burial will take place at a later date in Memphis.
Ruth worked many years as a legal secretary and was a former member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church of Little Rock, Ark. She was an avid reader and enjoyed flowers, doing needlepoint, listening to music and spending time with her tuxedo tabby friend, Dolly.
