She was born June 1, 1916, in Elkhart to Lawrence A. and Rose (Yoder) Myers. On April 10, 1937, in Albion, she married Durwood F. Gardner. He died April 17, 2004, in Elkhart.

She is survived by one son, John (Victoria) Gardner of Elkhart; one daughter, Sherrie (Jack) West of Dongola, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 4 p.m. Wednesday funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Keith McFarren will officiate. Burial will follow in Kessington Cemetery, Union, Mich.

Mrs. Gardner formerly worked for Miles Laboratories, retiring in 1977. She enjoyed traveling, crafts and square dancing.
