Ruth Ann Fry, 74, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on June 5, 1946 to the late, Theodore and Retha (Miller) Cline in Elkhart, IN. She married the love of her life, Walter Fry on February 19, 1971 in Elkhart. He passed away on October 18, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tonya (Jimmy) Davis, Shelly (Mark) Taylor, and Tina (Dale) Freeman, all of Elkhart; stepson, Walter Fry III of Elkhart; Sister, Joan (Alan) Stem of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Nicholas Pratt, Tony Fry, Aaron (Jen) Pratt, Constance Sharp, and Allison Sharp; 3 great grandchildren, Emma, McKenzee and Brianna.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Elkhart. She was a dispatcher with Ace Cab in Elkhart for 40 years. She also was a cook at a few local Elkhart restaurants including Ethyl's and Happy's Kountry Kitchen. Ruth enjoyed crocheting. She was an avid John Wayne Western and Elvis fan. Ruth could also be found watching tv or on her computer watching Youtube videos of her trucker friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Ruth was a fun, loveable, and always looking to have a good time. She will be remembered for her kind spirit and always helping others whenever she could.

Per the family's request, cremation was chosen. A private celebration of life will happen at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
