BRISTOL -- Ruby E. Martin, 88, of C.R. 104, Bristol, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 14, 2008) in East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 21, 1920, in Burritt Township, Ill., to James and Ethel Alexander.

Mrs. Martin is survived by one son, Frank Martin of Bristol; one daughter, Suzanne (Gerry) Rein of Boyne Falls, Mich.; two sisters, Margie (Bill) Finley and Mary Lou (Sig) Lee, both of Rockford, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Alexander.

Mrs. Martin was office manager for the Osolo Township Trustee's Office for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Republican Womens' Club and St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, Bristol.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. John's. The Rev. Corinne Hodges will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.
